What We Do

TOWER OF HOPE PROVIDES:

MEDICAL AID:

- ANTI-PARASITIC MEDICINE:    Tower of Hope, in conjunction with local partners, delivers and records the distribution of anti parasitic medication.

- LIGHT MEDICAL CARE:    Tower of Hope, in conjunction with partnering medical professionals, has provided over 5,000 indigent Peruvians with light medical care, including short-term access to doctors and dentists, recommendations for surgeries, tooth extractions, and treatment of infections.

- HYGIENE / SANITATION CLASSES:    To date, Tower of Hope has taught over 200 hygiene/sanitation classes

HUMANITARIAN AID:

- SHOES:    It is estimated that at least 80% of the people where we minister have illnesses caused by parasites, many of which are picked up through bare feet. People do not wear shoes because they do not own them. Also, in the mountains, shoes are essential to prevent frozen feet. Since people cannot afford shoes, the children suffer the most because they outgrow their shoes. Children will frequently wear shoes that are too small or with the sides cut out of them to accommodate their growing feet.  During our two 2008 trips to Peru, Tower of Hope distributed over 5,000 pairs of shoes.

- FOOD / CLOTHING / SCHOOL SUPPLIES:   Throughout the year, Tower of Hope missionaries shop here in the US for extreme bargains on clothing, school supplies, and personal hygiene items to bring to Peru.  In 2008, 5,000 people (approx 1200 families) were given packages of staple foods, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, some clothing, and pencils for the children.  In 2009, Tower of Hope worked with local pastors to provide staple food packages for all community members who attended our service.
